Consumer Watch: What to Know Before Buying a Used Car in Nevada

With rising car prices, many people in the Las Vegas Valley are opting for used cars as an affordable alternative. However, consumer attorneys warn that a "good deal" can end up costing thousands.

In a recent interview, Las Vegas local Marie Sepian shared her experience of buying a used 2024 Honda Civic from a small car lot in East Las Vegas. She thought she had found a great deal, but later discovered the car had major structural damage.

"This car had 13,200 miles on it and looked in excellent shape," Sepian said. "I asked them if it had been in an accident, and he swore there were no accidents."

Consumer attorneys advise caution when buying used cars to avoid costly surprises.
