Lina Ghotmeh: Museums' New Role
Architect Lina Ghotmeh, designer of the British Museum's Western Range remodeling, envisions the institution as "a place of connections".
Ghotmeh, born in Beirut and based in Paris, won the competition in February 2025 to oversee the project.
Museums should go beyond conservation to foster exchange, reflection and critical thinking
Her team, including Purcell and Arup, aims to transform the Western Range into "an extraordinary space, a place of connections for the world and of the world".
