Tenants trust landlords more than agents

Tenants' Trust in Landlords and Agents

Tenants tend to trust landlords more than agents, as Victorian landlords are seen as more relaxed and flexible, leading to smoother tenant relationships.

A study by the Consumer Policy Research Centre (CPRC) found that only 16% of Victorian renters had high confidence in the rental market, with tenants facing more challenges when dealing with agents than landlords.

According to the CPRC’s inaugural Renter Confidence Index (RCI), only 16 per cent of Victorians recorded a confidence score over 90.

Tenants who dealt directly with landlords had a more positive experience than those who dealt with agents.

Author's summary: Tenants trust landlords more than agents due to their flexibility.
