Appeals court further delay potential troop deployment

Appeals Court Delays Potential Troop Deployment

The 9th Circuit Court of Appeals has paused an earlier decision, adding another delay to the president's desired deployment of National Guard troops to Portland.

Oregon Attorney General Dan Rayfield stated:

This means for now, both our TROs preventing National Guard deployment remain in effect.

A two-sentence order by Senior Circuit Judge Sidney R. Thomas paused the previous order, which sided with the federal administration's effort to deploy hundreds of National Guard troops to Portland.

Author's summary: Court delays troop deployment decision.
