Over the past ten weeks, I have been engaging with local residents in Brixton, speaking with around 2,000 people on doorsteps and in streets.
Brixton is a diverse and vibrant community with a strong sense of buzz, featuring parks, shops, bars, and excellent transport links. However, amidst this positivity, there is a significant issue that cannot be ignored: homelessness, addiction, and mental illness.
People feel guilty, shamed, sad, angry, in despair about it.
These problems are often met with feelings of guilt, shame, sadness, anger, and despair, highlighting the need for attention and action.
