Power Restoration Update in Burlington and Sedro-Woolley
Following a car crash on Saturday morning, thousands of residents in Burlington and Sedro-Woolley experienced a power outage.
The incident occurred at around 7 a.m. at the intersection of Wicker Road and Fruitdale Road, causing heavy damage to multiple transformers.
- Over 5,400 customers initially lost power in Sedro-Woolley and Burlington.
- By 1 p.m., more than 1,000 Puget Sound Energy customers in Sedro-Woolley remained without power.
The car crash likely led to the large power outage, according to Sedro-Woolley police.
Power was mostly restored by Saturday afternoon, with the remaining customers expected to have their power back by 2:30 p.m.
Traffic lights were also affected by the outage, with some intersections having battery-powered lights and others without.
