Newsom Vs. Trump 2028: California Governor Weighs White House Bid
California Governor Gavin Newsom has been considering a presidential run for months, and he recently made his intentions more official.
“Yeah, I’d be lying otherwise,”
Newsom told CBS Sunday Morning's Robert Costa, admitting he is giving "serious thought" to a White House bid. He added,
“I’d just be lying, and I’m not — I can’t do that,”leaving the decision to
“Fate”to determine if 2028 would be his shot.
Newsom has been testing the waters in Red States and taking swings at Donald Trump, but he will not make up his mind about 2028 until the 2026 midterms are over.
