Introduction to Everwood Elementary's Therapy Dog Program
Everwood Elementary School's first year is in full swing, with students adjusting to the new building thanks to some four-legged friends.
Dana Patterson, a SEARCH teacher at Everwood, created a partnership between the school and therapy dog teams to help students relax throughout the week.
This Friday, Robin Herron and her golden retriever Reesy visited classrooms, giving students a chance to interact with them.
Patterson, who formerly taught at Oakwood Elementary School, wanted to continue the therapy dog program at Everwood, which was a staple at Oakwood before it closed and combined with McEver Arts Academy.
The program was a staple at Oakwood that she wanted to carry on at EES.
