Sharks Locker Room: Celebrini's Rise to Superstardom?
The San Jose Sharks' game against the Minnesota team was expected to be another story of blown leads and losses. However, Macklin Celebrini's impressive performance led to a 6-5 OT victory.
The Sharks initially dominated the first period, leading 2-0, but errors and penalties allowed the opposing team to catch up. Vincent Iorio's high-sticking penalty led to a power play goal by Marcus Johansson, and an unforced error between Tyler Toffoli and Vincent Desharnais resulted in a 2-on-1 goal by Marco Rossi.
"That was our own doing," said San Jose Sharks head coach Ryan Warsofsky. "That's one big lesson."
The same pattern of errors and comeback attempts repeated itself in the third period, but the Sharks managed to regain their lead and ultimately win the game.
