With 2 ballots at stake, here’s how Elections Yukon will conduct the count

Conducting the Count in the 2025 Territorial Elections

In the 2025 territorial elections, Yukon electors will receive two distinguishable ballots, separated by perforation, for regular and plebiscite votes.

Ballot Structure

One ballot will list the electoral district and candidates in ballot order, determined by a random draw, with two to four candidates indicated, depending on the electoral riding.

The plebiscite ballot will have the same size but a different design, containing the plebiscite question, yes or no options, a blue stripe, and clear marking indicating it's the plebiscite ballot.

Neither of the ballots themselves contain information identifying the voter.

Counting Process

Chief electoral officer Maxwell Harvey explained that the two ballots will be separated for electors at the polls, maintaining the secrecy of the votes.
