Navy's Top Officer on Deploying Troops
During a visit to Philadelphia, Chief of Naval Operations Admiral Daryl Caudle discussed the military's role in a time of heightened tension.
When we get a demand signal for our troops to be deployed anywhere under a lawful order, it is my goal to provide those troops for the missions that the Secretary of War wants to actually utilize them for.
Admiral Caudle spoke about the Navy's future in Philadelphia, military actions in the Caribbean, and the 250th anniversary celebration. He emphasized that he would follow "lawful" orders to deploy troops "anywhere", including U.S. cities.
The admiral's comments came during an interview with The Inquirer, as the Navy celebrated its 250th anniversary in its birthplace.
