SNAICC – National Voice for our Children has released a new resource to support early childhood educators in responding to disclosures of abuse or harm.
The resource, titled "Believe, Inquire, Respond to Disclosures", aims to promote culturally safe and child-centred practices that protect Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children.
Responding effectively to a disclosure of abuse is crucial, as it can impact the child's sense of safety and likelihood of ongoing disclosure or help-seeking.
Children may disclose directly, indirectly, or through behaviour.
This resource is part of SNAICC's ongoing work to support the wellbeing of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children.
