Take away the second and third quarters of their Sept. 27 meeting, and Hazleton Area outscored Wilkes-Barre Area, 21-7. However, the Wolfpack had a decisive 28-0 advantage in the middle two quarters.
Wilkes-Barre Area also turned the ball over deep inside Cougar territory in the first quarter, which could have made the final score of 35-21 more lopsided.
Regardless of their past meeting, the score will start at 0-0 when the Wyoming Valley Conference Division 1 rivals clash in a District 2-4 Class 6A semifinal on Friday evening in Plains Twp.
"We know we can play with them,"
Hazleton Area head coach Scott Sacco said.
"We just have to go up there and play our game."
