Firefighters Ordered To Abandon Smoldering Site Days Before Catastrophic Palisades Fire Exploded

Investigation into Palisades Fire Reveals Potential Preventability

A recent investigative report by the LA Times suggests that the catastrophic Palisades fire in January, which resulted in 12 deaths, nearly 7,000 burned structures, and tens of billions of dollars in damages, may have been preventable.

According to the report, firefighters were ordered to abandon a smoldering burn site just days before the massive fire erupted. Pulitzer Prize-winning journalist Paul Pringle, who co-authored the LA Times piece, discussed the findings on CNN.

The massive January 7th blaze is believed to have originated from a smaller fire that occurred on January 1st.

Author's summary: Palisades fire may have been preventable.
