West Sumatra had the worst air quality in Indonesia on November 1, 2025, with an ISPU of 96, followed by Banten (95) and Riau Islands (94), according to KLHK data.

Air Quality Index

Based on the Air Pollution Standard Index (ISPU) page of the Ministry of Environment and Forestry (KLHK), West Sumatra's air quality index was 96.

The ISPU is a dimensionless number used to describe ambient air quality conditions at a specific location and is based on its impact on human health, aesthetic value, and other living things.

ISPU Calculation

ISPU calculation is based on the measurement results of seven air pollutant parameters, namely PM10, PM2.5, NO2, SO2, CO, O3, and HC.
