WVU Men's Soccer Defeats Marshall 3-0
West Virginia men's soccer secured a dominant 3-0 win over Marshall in the Mountain State Derby.
The Mountaineers, with 19 players contributing, outperformed No. 11 Marshall on Halloween, improving their season record to 11-3-2. Marshall's record fell to 8-2-5.
WVU now leads the Mountain State Derby 18-8-4. According to head coach Dan Stratford,
"I said to the guys, the best way to get over the line is to score the second, score the third. It's nice when they do what they're told, and put the ball in the back of the net."
With this win, WVU would have tied with Kentucky at 18 points atop the Sun Belt Conference, but Kentucky's 1-0 win over Georgia State secured their top spot with 21 points.
