Kyle Larson has strengthened his position in the NASCAR Round of 8 after a second-place finish at Las Vegas Motor Speedway.
Thanks to 19 stage points, Larson is now 35 points above the elimination point with two races remaining.
Larson led a race-high 129 laps on Sunday, bolstering his playoff bubble cushion.

Other Hendrick Motorsports playoff drivers, William Byron and Chase Elliott, are still in range, with Byron needing to make up 15 points and Elliott 23 points back.
