This past Friday, the East LA Classic took place, a legendary rivalry between Roosevelt High School and Garfield High School that dates back to 1953.
This was an intense display of sheer athletic ability fueled by a long-tenured generational pride from both sides representing a historic lineage of sportsmanship in the East L.A. Latino community.
The game was held at East Los Angeles College in Monterey Park, with the support of Nike and the LA Rams, keeping the tradition alive.
The two schools competed in style, thanks to the initiative.
