Mayor Jae'ques Brown and Greenville's new city council were sworn in for the 2025-2029 term, marking the beginning of a new administration.
The ceremony, led by Alabama Supreme Court Chief Justice Will Sellers, was followed by the first regular city council session. During the meeting, the council approved changes to City Hall hours, adopting a Monday-Thursday schedule with Friday closures.
A series of resolutions were also approved, including the establishment of a new administrative coordinator position.
"This is an executive assistant position to the mayor that we're making a recommendation for,"explained Mayor Brown. Each council member was informed of the recommended salary range for the position.
The new administration has begun, with Mayor Brown and the city council ready to tackle new challenges and initiatives.
