Situation in Vietnam

In Vietnam, three fishermen went missing when their boat was swept away by strong waves near Ly Son island in Quang Ngai province. Search efforts began but were later paused due to worsening weather conditions, according to state media.

Storm Strength and Damage

Kalmaegi was unusually powerful for November, with sustained winds of approximately 183 kph (114 mph) and gusts reaching 220 kph (137 mph) over the South China Sea. Coastal cities like Danang faced waves up to 3 meters (10 feet) high and strong winds uprooted trees in Dak Lak province.

Many homes in Quy Nhon lost power for several hours, and the financial center Ho Chi Minh City faced a high risk of severe flooding.
