Cameron Norrie Reaches Metz Semifinals

Cameron Norrie successfully overcame a tough challenge from home favorite Kyrian Jacquet at the Moselle Open on Thursday. As the last remaining seed at the ATP 250 event, Norrie closed out the match by winning the final 11 points in a battle lasting two hours and 25 minutes, securing his place in the semifinals.

“He surprised me a lot. He was mixing it up really well. A lot of slicing, then really aggressive at moments. His serve is really, really good. The French have so many good players, so many different kinds of players. I really liked the way he competed and he could have easily won the match in the second set as well, but I managed to stay tough.” – Cameron Norrie on Kyrian Jacquet

Jacquet dominated with 48 winners, half of those from his forehand, compared to Norrie’s 28. Despite this, the 30-year-old Briton found his best form at the crucial moments to earn his semifinal spot.

Upcoming Match

Norrie will face either Lorenzo Sonego or Daniel Altmaier in the next round. The Briton is in pursuit of his sixth tour-level title and his first since he won in Rio de Janeiro in 2023, where he defeated Carlos Alcaraz in the final.
