Helmsdale Community Council has expressed frustration over the ongoing delays to crucial dredging work at Helmsdale Harbour.
The council is considering lodging a formal complaint, amid concerns that the local economy and livelihoods are being jeopardised.
“It’s absolutely just delay after delay,” said Ms Cowie. “And it’s not all Highland Council’s fault — some of it lies with Marine Scotland.”
Community councillor Carolyn Smith suggested that submitting a formal complaint might help accelerate the process.
“If you have a formal complaint, they have to respond within a certain amount of time,” she said.
