Remembrance Day Events in Brampton
The City of Brampton will hold two events on November 11 to honour Canada’s veterans: a parade and a remembrance ceremony at city hall.
Event Details
- The remembrance ceremony starts at 10:30 a.m. at Ken Whillans Square, located in front of city hall (2 Wellington St. W.) by the Brampton Cenotaph.
- A sunrise service will be held earlier at 7:55 a.m. at Meadowvale Cemetery Church (7732 Mavis Rd.).

- Black Veterans Day is recognized on November 7.
- Indigenous Veterans Day is observed on November 8.
Business and Service Hours on November 11
Though Remembrance Day is not a statutory holiday, some services and businesses will be closed or have modified hours:
- Closed: Canada Post offices, passport services, Service Canada locations, and most banks.
- Open with modified hours: Beer Stores and LCBO locations, opening at noon.
- The City of Brampton confirms city hall and some city facilities will be closed.
Transit and Recreation
- Brampton Transit runs on its regular weekday schedule.
- Veterans displaying medals, berets, uniforms, blazers, War Veteran Passes, or service papers can ride for free all day.
- All Brampton parks and recreation centres will be open during normal hours.
- All Brampton Library branches will be closed.
