The San Jose Sharks secured a decisive 6-1 victory over the Seattle Kraken at Climate Pledge Arena on Wednesday. Macklin Celebrini contributed a goal and two assists, helping the Sharks win four of their last six games.
“Our penalty kill was really good tonight. So that helps,” said Sharks coach Ryan Warsofsky. “I thought our game got better as the game went on.”
“Disconnected in a bunch of different areas. Our structure wasn't good enough tonight,” said Kraken coach Lane Lambert.
Celebrini opened the scoring 1:08 into the first period by receiving a pass from Toffoli and firing a wrist shot past Daccord's blocker.
“I was just in the slot and just there to put it in,” Celebrini said. “[Smith and Toffoli], they did a great job, getting on their D and forcing a turnover.”
The Kraken tied the game 1-1 at 16:30 with Winterton's goal, but the Sharks pulled away decisively afterward.
Summary: The Sharks showcased strong teamwork and defense led by Celebrini and Askarov, overcoming the Kraken’s struggles to earn a commanding win.
