The East of England Ambulance Service NHS Trust (EEAST) has introduced six specially decorated ambulances to honor the sacrifices of the armed forces. The remembrance vehicles feature designs commemorating service members and will be rotated across operational hubs, allowing various teams to use them.
“It's important that we recognise and respect the sacrifices made in conflicts around the world – both within our communities and among our staff,”
said Terry Hicks, deputy director for emergency operations centres at EEAST, who led the initiative.
The tribute vehicles, created by the service’s fleet support teams, represent a visible sign of respect and solidarity. Hicks added that these displays can help those struggling feel more comfortable reaching out for support.
“The Remembrance ambulances are a powerful symbol of our respect and gratitude, and they reflect the values of compassion and community that underpin everything we do at EEAST,”
said Neill Moloney, chief executive of EEAST.
To mark Remembrance Day on 11 November, EEAST is also adding poppy decals to vehicles across its broader fleet.
EEAST has launched six Remembrance-themed ambulances and poppy decals, expressing gratitude to the armed forces and reinforcing its commitment to community and compassion.
