The San Jose Sharks delivered their most dominant performance of the season on Wednesday, defeating the Seattle Kraken 6-1 at Climate Pledge Arena. Six different Sharks players found the net, while goalie Yaroslav Askarov turned in another strong outing in goal.
The Sharks killed all six Seattle power plays, marking a perfect 6-for-6 penalty kill.
“Our penalty kill was really good tonight. So that helps,” said Sharks coach Ryan Warsofsky. “I thought our game got better as the game went on.”
Yaroslav Askarov stopped 14 shots in each of the first two periods and 14 more in the third, totaling 42 saves in the game. He also made 36 saves in San Jose’s 3-2 overtime victory over the Colorado Avalanche the prior Saturday.
Author’s Summary: The Sharks showcased a balanced and dominant performance led by Celebrini’s record-setting game and Askarov’s stellar goaltending, handing the Kraken their first regulation home loss this season.
