Ebola leads to serious hemorrhagic fever with elevated fatality. Transmission occurs chiefly by direct contact body fluids from sick people. It is found African regions, as outbreaks often occurring in rural areas. Key outbreaks were the 2014-2016 West African epidemic, affecting Guinea, Liberia and Sierra Leone. Another outbreak was in 2020 DR Congo. Symptoms usually emerge in 2-21 days following exposure, such as high fever, nausea/vomiting, diarrhea, and stomach pain. Present treatments use supportive care, like fluid therapy plus managing complications, together with experimental therapies and vaccines.
