huggingface.coThe NPG's Portrait Gallery's Choral Audio Guide, launched in October 2016, features a narrator, actor Simon Russell Beale, whose voice is accompanied by a beautiful choral soundtrack. This soundtrack spans a half centuries, from the Tudor period to the Elgar-era, with various pieces chosen to enhance the gallery's 500-year portrait collection. The guide begins with works by Tallis and Wilbye in the Tudor Galleries, and continues with a newly commissioned piece, Te Lucis ante terminum, by James Burton. Throughout the guide, relevant context is provided for each choral piece, making it a unique experience for visitors.
