Record fundraising total
Soccer Aid for UNICEF 2025 reportedly raised more than £15 million to support UNICEF’s work for children around the world. Organisers and UNICEF UK representatives said the donations would help programmes addressing poverty, conflict, health care and education, while also supporting children affected by climate-related crises. Officials also warned that reductions in overseas aid could place added pressure on vulnerable communities.
World XI edge dramatic victory
The annual charity match ended with World XI defeating England/UK XI 5-4 in a closely contested game. Big Zuu scored the winning goal in front of a large crowd, continuing the event’s tradition of combining football with celebrity participation. The match was broadcast across ITV1, ITVX and STV in mid-June 2025, drawing strong television audiences and continued media attention.
Established charity fixture
Soccer Aid has become one of the UK’s best-known annual charity sporting events, regularly attracting former professional footballers, entertainers and public figures. Recent editions have been associated with major venues including Old Trafford, while ongoing partnerships with broadcasters and UNICEF UK have helped sustain public interest. Historical fundraising milestones, including £7.9 million raised in 2019, underline the event’s continued growth and its role in supporting UNICEF campaigns year after year.
