Tybee Island is located in Chatham County, Georgia, about 18 miles (29 kilometers) east of Savannah. It is a barrier island at the mouth of the Savannah River and is Georgia’s easternmost point. The city and the island share a name, but geographically only part of the island lies within the city limits.[1][4]
