MIAMI – The NBA’s two fastest teams, the Miami Heat and the Portland Trail Blazers, delivered a thrilling high-tempo matchup at Kaseya Center on Saturday night. In a game full of explosive runs and constant momentum shifts, the Heat came out on top 136–131.
Despite missing Bam Adebayo and Tyler Herro due to injuries, Coach Erik Spoelstra’s squad found ways to adapt and close the game strong. Key late performances from Jaime Jaquez Jr., Norman Powell, and Andrew Wiggins sealed the win, moving Miami’s record to 6–4.
“Obviously our guys are getting pretty comfortable with it,” said Erik Spoelstra about the team’s pace-driven style. “I’m not putting the brakes on anybody who is trying to attack.”
Nikola Jovic led the Heat with a career-high 29 points. Powell added 22, followed by Pelle Larsson with 16, Wiggins with 15, and Jaquez, who contributed 14 points, 12 rebounds, and seven assists.
“It’s an offense where it can be anybody’s night,” said Jaquez. “Tonight, it was Niko.”
“You can see the way it makes everybody look better,” Jovic added, reflecting on the team’s faster offensive rhythm.
The Heat maintained their top-ranked pace and overcame injuries to secure a 136–131 win over the Trail Blazers, driven by Jovic’s breakout performance and Spoelstra’s trust in aggressive play.
