On the afternoon of 10 November, a woman and a child tragically drowned after falling into Dandenong Creek near Allan Street, police reported.

Incident Details

At approximately 3:45 pm, a witness saw two people swept away by the water. It is believed the woman attempted to rescue the child but also encountered trouble in the water.

Rescue Efforts

Emergency responders located the unconscious woman and child, pulled them from the creek, and performed CPR on both. Unfortunately, neither could be revived and were pronounced dead at the scene.

Identification and Investigation

The identities of the woman and child have not yet been confirmed. Police are preparing a report to submit to the coroner.
