A New Partnership to Support People with Brain Injuries
Headway Devon, a local charity based in Exeter, specializes in helping individuals rehabilitate from head injuries.
They have partnered with Thompsons Solicitors, MAPS Benevolent Trust, and the Players of the Postcode Lottery to provide support to people with brain injuries.
After brain injury people are discharged home to a family network without wider support. You've spent months in hospital, in ICU, in rehabilitation with a team of clinicians around you and suddenly you're all alone.
Headway Devon works with around 100 people every week, but there are many more who are discharged without knowing about their services.
With the new partnership, they can now provide support in hospitals, helping individuals who are still recovering and regaining skills after a brain injury.
This support is crucial, especially for those who may be navigating a legal fight for compensation.
