30 journalists embody the struggle for freely reported environmental coverage, facing obstruction, threats, arrest, attack, jail, or even death.
From Cambodia to the Amazon, from France to Egypt, journalists covering natural resource stories are often persecuted. Reporters Without Borders (RSF) highlights 30 cases of persecuted journalists covering environmental issues in the past year.
Our goal: to leave no breach of freedom of information unreported.
With COP30 beginning on November 10 in Belém, Brazil, RSF calls on governments to ensure reliable reporting and its actors are key in the fight against climate change.
