Rolls-Royce has successfully tested the world’s first high-speed marine engine powered entirely by methanol.
This marks a significant step toward cleaner propulsion options for commercial vessels, according to the company.
The test was conducted at Rolls-Royce Power Systems in Friedrichshafen, Germany, as part of the meOHmare research project.
The project is a partnership with Woodward L’Orange GmbH and research center WTZ Roßlau.
