Denby Delight as Lane Puts Him on the Road to Success
BARRY DENBY was still on a high on Monday morning following the success of his Butlers Lane in Friday’s £20,000 Premier Greyhound Racing Oaks at Dunstall Park.
The veteran Nottingham trainer saw his talented bitch complete an unbeaten run through the bitches’ Classic as she ran her rivals ragged from the front in the 480m Category One showdown, to complete a lifetime ambition for her 70-year-old trainer.
“It was brilliant. I’ve always loved bitches, right back to my days on the flaps as I’ve always found them far more reliable when it comes to a gamble. Mind you, at 125-1 ante-post and some fancy prices for her heats, you can’t believe your luck.”
