The Terrifier films originated from short segments in the anthology All Hallows' Eve and have since developed a strong cult following.
The sequel grossed $15 million on a $250,000 budget, and the third installment made $90 million on a $2 million budget.
One infamous scene in the movie features a woman being suspended upside down and cut in half, which lost the author's interest.
