SLED Regional Headquarters Opens in Pee Dee
A ribbon-cutting ceremony was held for the South Carolina Law Enforcement Division's (SLED) new Pee Dee regional office.
The office is located on the campus of Francis Marion University (FMU) in Florence, at the corner of Anne Pearce Drive and South Evander Drive.
SLED Chief Mark Keel said the building is uniquely designed and includes an Emergency Operations Center.
- The Emergency Operations Center will be used during natural disasters when other offices are unavailable.
- The Pee Dee office will serve as a model for future facilities across the state.
According to Chief Keel, the facility was made possible thanks to the support of the late Sen. Leatherman, who committed to finding funding in October 2021.
