The Walk&Talk arts festival, launched in 2011, has evolved from a street art celebration into a biennial event.
Initially, the festival aimed to bring the community together and attract international visitors to São Miguel, the largest island in the Azores archipelago.
This year, the festival features over 80 artists in nine venues around the island, offering a range of exhibitions, performances, and activities.
Island life, while often romanticised, can be lonely and isolating—especially when that island is in the middle of the Atlantic Ocean.
Notable works include Uhura Bqueer and Soya the Cow’s excursion "Try walking in my hooves x Ananábó" (2025), on display at Ponta Delgada’s Portas da Cidade.
