Hockey Fights Cancer Event Set to Hit Milestone
The Brantford Minor Hockey Association's annual Hockey Fights Cancer event is approaching a significant milestone. The fifth annual edition, set to take place on November 15, aims to eclipse $200,000 in donations.
Jordy McGowan, the founder of the event, stated:
We've raised more than $150,000 that's gone to the Stedman Hospice and Canadian Cancer Society.
- 24 games are scheduled for the event.
- The goal is to break $200,000 in donations.
- The long-term goal is to reach $250,000 over 10 years, at $25,000 per year.
The event has grown significantly since its first year, when only one team participated, raising $4,500.
