Laura Lang has defeated Mike Pemberton for the Whitehorse West seat, according to unofficial results. Lang expressed her surprise, emotion, and pride as a Yukoner.
“I’m prepared to work damn hard,” she said. “We work hard, we listen to each other, and we take care. And that’s what happened in this campaign.”
Riding Updates
- In Mayo-Tatchun, Cory Bellmore of the NDP leads incumbent Liberal Jeremy Harper 315-288.
- In Copperbelt North, Yukon Party leader Currie Dixon is up more than 200 votes on Matthew Lien of the NDP with five of nine polls reporting.
- In Copperbelt South, Yukon Party incumbent Scott Kent is leading comfortably with a 365 vote deficit and two polls yet to report.
