A Crown prosecutor has recommended a 12-year jail sentence without parole for Charlene Jane Alexander, convicted of second-degree murder.
Alexander fatally stabbed 26-year-old Jessie Mae Hayward-Lines outside the Prince George courthouse on July 2, 2020.

According to Crown prosecutor Tyler Bowman, Alexander committed a “purposeful and brutal act of violence” against a gentle and vulnerable person.
Bowman stated that Hayward-Lines had done nothing to provoke Alexander, except refuse to turn down her music in a public place.
