Toronto’s GM John Chayka said the club is exploring a trade for Columbus defenseman Zach Werenski following the NHL Draft.
The Leafs have brought in a few prospects in the draft’s final round.
Chayka confirmed that clubs are reaching out Columbus to gauge Werenski’s availability.
Rumors also associate goaltender Sergei Bobrovsky to the organization.
Chayka commented on the recent transfer of defenseman Brandon Carlo to St. Louis and pointed out that offer deadlines push the team to decide swiftly, reminding that the club must act quickly on all decisions.
