Virgin Media O2 this week will phase out its 2G network soon. The company’s chief technology officer, Jeanie York, made this disclosure.
The shutdown will affect older devices including certain smart meters and similar devices and medical equipment. Virgin Media O2 says that ending 2G will clear space for faster 5G upgrades designed to enhance mobile services nationwide.
