Southeast Iowa Robbery Investigation Leads to Arrest
A southeast Iowa man is facing charges following a report of an assault in Fairfield, Iowa.
On October 27, at approximately 4:45 a.m., officers responded to a report of a female victim who had been assaulted by a man she had a protection order against.
- The woman reported that the man arrived at her house and threw her phone when she attempted to call 911.
- The man, identified as Jerome David Chamberlin, 36, of Fairfield, is accused of assaulting the woman and taking the keys to her vehicle.
- Chamberlin then reportedly placed items on the woman's vehicle and set fire to them.
The woman told officers that the man's actions caused her to be unable to call for help.
