The upcoming Mega Dimension DLC for Pokemon Legends: Z-A is set to overturn a major rule that has existed since the original Generation 1 games. A new trailer revealed fresh details, suggesting the series is about to take one of its boldest steps yet.
The Pokémon franchise turns 30 in 2026, and excitement is already high after a wave of leaks about Generation 10, including possible titles Pokemon Wind and Pokemon Wave. Although nothing has been officially confirmed, fans are now shifting focus to Pokemon Legends: Z-A and its Mega Dimension DLC.
The Mega Dimension DLC will launch on December 10 and is expected to feature several new Mega Evolutions. Known additions include Mega Raichu X and Mega Raichu Y, while the latest trailer introduced Mega Chimecho and Mega Baxcalibur, validating earlier leaks from the base game’s release period.
“For the first time ever, the series will allow Pokémon to grow past level 100.”
This feature marks a historic shift in the franchise. Until now, every mainline and spin-off game has capped Pokémon development at level 100. Pokemon Legends: Z-A, featuring a Pokédex of 230 creatures, will be the first to exceed that long-standing limit.
The Mega Dimension DLC for Pokemon Legends: Z-A redefines Pokémon’s limits by allowing levels beyond 100, signaling a major milestone as the franchise approaches its 30th anniversary.
